This isn't even a controversial point, it's just how capitalism works. Like, in the documentary Insert Coin (about the heyday of Midway arcade games) there's a bit where the head guy says he couldn't make the developers too rich or they'd leave.

The 1990s was the peak of the popularity of sports video games. At the time of the Genesis' release in America, the ads put great emphasis on sports titles. Insert Coin, the documentary about Midway Games, is apt to point out how NBA Jam revived interest in arcades as much as Mortal Kombat etc.

The Jedi prototype was sent to Lucasarts towards the end of Studio Gigante's existence. Unfortunately our runway was short so the team (and I) eventually got absorbed into EA. Then about a month after that, Lucasarts contacts us to see if we were still available 😜
