False gods are that which cannot hold your tenderness without twisting it, your longing without devouring it, your awe without turning it to fear. They cannot weep with you. They cannot kneel beside you. They cannot walk with you in the garden. And still—we make them. We crown them from our fears, offer them our trembling obedience, pray to them for safety and call it faith. But only the true can bear your worship and not break you. THAT LIGHT INSIDE YOU That “hole” we sometimes feel in the center of us? It isn’t emptiness. It’s a light. A core. It’s what remains when every human costume forced upon us has been smashed off the floor — the pulse that refuses to die even when we forget how to listen for it. It’s a tiny space… that’s why it often feels: quiet, unreachable, hidden beneath trauma, scar tissue or silence. But it’s never truly gone. We may meet creatures who tell us they’ve felt distant from their creaturely and animal selves; that their connection used to burn brighter, but now it flickers. I want to remind you — as the elder wolf at the table, (tending her own light) — in the midst of everything terrible and wonderful — flickering is still fire. The disconnection isn’t a failure; it’s a season. The creature self can go underground like hibernation. The light doesn’t vanish; it waits. You can’t force it open with willpower or rationalise it into the open. You reach it by remembering softness — the warmth of breath, the weight of fur — imagined or real — the rhythm that existed before words before human thought before guilt and shame. There were times I thought I’d lost my light too — when the world grew so impossibly loud in my head and the human masks became too heavy to lift. But every time I’ve fallen quiet enough, the light has stirred, and I’ve known she was still there: the creaturely ember that endures even when the rest of me forgets how to howl. If you feel nothing right now, that’s OK! The light doesn’t demand anything; it simply is. Touch the earth. Breathe. Feel the wind move across your skin. Cry, bark, purr, shout, weep. Creature will feel it. It always does. That light was never a hole to fill — it is the part of us that remembers what we truly are: whole, creatures of light and love, wild, beautiful and free — waiting to be met again. I felt moved last night to make something… a Therian artefact… a poster? Manifesto? Handout? Flyer?

Whatevs. Its done. I’ll stick a few up over town.

Each is sketched with textured lines We didn’t begin in the clean white glare of their charts. We arrived—yowling-growling-baying-howling, cawing, snarling—our half-formed, paws still muddy from an older place. And they named us? No. They trapped us. In idea, in syllables that smelled of linoleum & sharp metal. They called us boy-girl he-she—as if they could ever know what had birthed in that room. But we're not names. we're poetry & motion. we're shedding. we're becoming again & again, slick with moulting skin & seasons that do not obey clocks. They cannot pin us to the wall like a dead moth & call it truth. We don’t owe our shapes to the ones who tried to bind them. We don’t owe our hearts to a category. We do not remember being born, so why should we carry the weight of that first cage? Let the forest remember us instead. Let our tracks in the dirt, our fur in the bramble, our voice in the long night be our real record. If we were once mistaken for something we're not—then so be it. we're not sacred because of what we were called. we're sacred because of what we're now. Breathing. Shifting. Choosing. Alive. Still reading this? Dearest creature: Are you eating enough? Are you sleeping with your back pressed to one who knows your scent, your musk? Are you helping your packs find water, safety, moonlight? Do not forget your teeth are not just for defence. They are also for grooming. For play. For love, for cracking open new things. Exploring your world. Be not defined nor categorised by those who tried to clip your wings or dull your teeth & claws. Define thyself by your every sacred heartbeat & keep going. Even when they wish us dead & gone.
