The "Surprise" Kochanski appearance (unless you read her credit amongst the cast on the front of the DVD) is so wildly pointless when it's just her dressed up as the robot from Blade Runner doing a funny voice.

The Corrie crossover is technically one of the biggest things British TV has ever done, completely unprecedented for our oldest soap.

Unfortunately, it's naff and weirdly pretends the sets are in the backlot buildings.

Robert Lewellyn, quite understandably, isn't as up for extensive makeup as he was when he was a decade younger, so the Dave era masks are never as good and notably less well glued around the mouth.
November 18, 2025 at 5:23 PM
Well, let's start with something nice. This being about the middle of his long Corrie run means Craig Charles is a really good actor by this point and his visit to his crew memorial is actually very touching.

Well, that took some faffing and @alexwiggan.bsky.social to be a more efficient postal delivery system than both Amazon and DPD (who'd lied about trying to deliver the passed on parcel), but it's finally here!

Time to be disappointed all over again, but in HD.

Even by Toku location disconnect standards, the team being in the docks one second and then getting knocked sideways into the quarry is a bit much.
November 18, 2025 at 1:53 PM
Incredibly, I'm more convinced of the love between the amnesiac disguised villain and the dying girl that's had two scenes than anything with Kaori.

Inoue amnesia plot? In this economy?

No one:

Next time... it's the one thing everyone remembers X for. Now, we're definitely allowed to stereotype Nazis, but this could go lots of places.
November 18, 2025 at 1:24 PM
Ha, yesterday I was wondering if Jetman was heading for a swimsuit episode, then X produced one instead.

It's not too salacious though (thankfully, I think the girls are still teens?), and plot relevant by giving Keisuke a way of seeing the back of a young boy without it being weird.

Lupin based characters are usually good fun in Toku, so I'm looking forward to him.

And we're allowed to stereotype the the French.

How 44 feels.

Oh God, it's actually worse than I thought it could be, the speaking lead villain isn't Native American in human form, but his non speaking easily killed goons are.

Honestly can't tell from the quality and lack of closeups if it's makeup or someone vaguely ethnically right, but still naff.
November 18, 2025 at 12:54 PM
More positively, that's a cool location I don't recognise from anything else.
November 18, 2025 at 12:51 PM
Thankfully they've also not tried to make his human form Native American, because that would totally have been brownface.

The nicest thing I can say about Scorpion Geronimo is at least it doesn't sound like he's doing the stock "Indian" voice (though it may be the Japanese equivalent from dubbed Westerns?).
November 18, 2025 at 12:45 PM
Today on X... an actual ongoing plot means a recap!

And look, mate, if you didn't want G.O.D. to use your McGuffin for EVIL, maybe destroy the plan rather making it a treasure hunt between a team comprising a cafe owner and a man who needs a haircut and a large scale terrorist organisation.

Mum suggested watching a film together and, even if she's not much of a Bond fan she's got a big thing for Brosnan (imagine watching a Bond film because there's a hot person in it. I never would), so continuing his 30th anniversary Brosnaissance with the time he destroyed the Millenium Dome.

Whoops, accidentally posted a pic of a haggard old man earlier. This is actually me at 44.

Clearly Timothy Dalton was too powerful for my telly last night, as it's decided to do an update adding more AI crap (a concierge? Really?).

Worst, it's TFHypeguy powered AI.

I did like how the episode seemed to be setting her up as a one-off villain to be killed, and then she's like "No, fuck you, I'm punishing you in the worst way possible. 90s fashion."
