It's totally irrational of me, but I disliked Ande MacDowell's character in Four Weddings and a Funeral so much that it carried over to her. Makes it harder to enjoy Groundhog Day.

Oh, certainly. But the power differential is troubling. At the time, profs could date students if the student wasn't currently taking their class, but that was 40 years ago

Back in the 80s a fellow grad student ended up marrying her advisor. I did an internal side-eye when she told me (but I did wish her happy, I'm not a monster).
