I now want to make a coffee shop/bookstore/slam poetry bar scene, put it nearish to the local university, and call it "Third Space". Open from 2p - 1am. Coffee, teas and a limited wine selection; keep it fancy.

How did the House GOP block releasing files that, according to Pam Bondi, don't exist?

The English language lacks a specific noun to describe people in power whose enacted decisions causes a rising death toll.

Yesterday I saw a conversation pop up ma o ka 'ŌH, between two I've never heard of, and our community is small; there is no degrees of separation for us. One wound up being an AI tool. I'll be mulling over this for quite some time to come.

I'm down to participate in Lenten practices of sacrificing for 40 days. It builds resilience and appreciation. I'm stuck this year; I have no fresh ideas on what to choose; the news is clouding my focus. I would love ideas!

reluctant to remind everyone that the DOJ site still has up its page of links: Overview of The Privacy Act of 1974 (2020, last updated 2022), in case you want to answer that appallingly stupid meme going around about questioning giving DOGE bags access to our SSNs but everyone else gets to see it:

Elon’s kid spent the press conference yesterday insulting Trump and reminding him who’s actually in charge… #news #elonmusk

Seeing #Trump-neutral™ people seem to describe him as old and wacky, while surrounded by nefarious businessmen. Their words include "all of his efforts will face a stay through the courts", confident that it's adequate. That this is all just for show and eventually the real governing will happen.

Re: Trump's EO rapid-fire shenaninaniz: This is where the weakest links of checks & balances reveal themselves. Is it the mosquitos in Congress, failing to pass unassailable laws, or the jackals on the Courts failing to interpret correctly according to the Constitution?

Hawai'i needs to shut down travel from these states. We do not have the medical bandwidth to handle these outbreaks.

Oregon is facing a major measles outbreak.

Michigan and California now report tuberculosis exposures in schools and Kansas is having the largest tuberculosis outbreak in US history.

H5N1 and other highly pathogenic avian Influenza strains are jumping species and infecting humans.

The vibes are giving Lockdown 2021 all over again. Tired, fussy, and I want all of this bs to hurry up and fix itself.

stop talking about RFKJr having his kids vaccinated. In the 1980s and 1990s when those kids were all born, it would have been their mothers who made that decision, trotting them off to the pediatrician. Famous daddies didn't bother.

I’m not sure how to navigate this weekend. I’m filled with dread while trying to immerse myself in practical efforts.

No, Dude you don't get to write a screenplay about "scrappy teens from an ancient Polynesian village defying his parents" a year after Whale Rider was released (2002) and in the same year as the Legend of Johnny Lingo ('03) then get your gall up to sue #Disney for "your original idea" about #Moana.

Department of Energy in 1977. Creating FEMA in 1979. Founding the Department of Education, also in 1979. What a legacy, #PresidentJimmyCarter 🥹 I didn't know this. America was so fortunate to have had his leadership.
