Book lover & dog lover. I watch clips from the golden days of soaps to relax.
I’m a Christian who loathes MAGA.
That’s why I don’t like the fact that Dems are pushing for Johnson to act. He won’t. Dems must move on to another plan.
The thing about Johnson not swearing in Grijalva is that’s it a test for 2026.

If you think they will accept an outcome they don’t like, they will just Grijalva it.

So what’s the plan when the GOP says “we ain’t leaving, fuck you, make us.”

Because that IS what they are going to say.

Dem leaders in the last year have been easy for R’s to manipulate. If SNAP is ending, don’t cave to DT. Feed the people another way. Seven million people just marched. That should signal to Dems that many people are willing to hand out food.
There’s zero Dem instinct for the jugular. To use a boxing analogy, Dems have consistently been unagressive counterpunchers who fight from a defensive crouch and don’t throw a meaningful punch until after they’ve been hit in the face for seven rounds.

They do not have enough popular support.

So they are trying to outlaw / silence opposition.

And that’s where we are.

Pushing back has never mattered more.

That would be real Dem leadership.
Not only should the Dems refuse to cave on the shutdown; they should announce they won’t vote for a budget until: (a) the military is withdrawn from every American city where it’s been deployed; (b) the budget forbids the use of any funds for that purpose; AND (c) the healthcare demand already made.

Please don’t complain about Kimmel & Colbert if you are still watching MSM. You are paying them to destroy the country & people you love. I speak from experience when I say turning them off feels better in the long run.

I’m sharing because I’ve read ProPublica articles and I respect their work.
Do you work at the Office of Management and Budget? Do you know someone who does? Are you a current or former federal worker with information that you can share about Russell Vought?

If the answer to any of these is "yes," please contact @andykroll.bsky.social

If one Democratic governor doing good social media causes this much turmoil on the right, imagine where we’d be if the entire party was doing it.

We don’t need Dems pearl clutching over gerrymandering. There are more of us, as we have seen repeatedly in the popular vote. They can’t win on numbers, so they win by cheating. Dems gerrymandering more seats will most accurately reflect the US population.
YES! Gavin Newsom starts the process to gerrymander California. Why that is good!

Yes. This has always been obvious. It keeps the focus of the Democrat party on changing MAGA’s minds, instead of winning the next election. It’s a terrible Dem strategy that has failed us every time.
Can I make the blindingly obvious observation that now that we know Trump and his crew doctored the Epstein video we can't possibly trust that anything else they release will be all they actually have?

Wouldn't you just assume documents are being *burned and shredded* right now?

I want to look for ways to prevent this from happening again. If you find my desire to never see children swept away by water “too political”, I just don’t know what to say.
If you’re reading this, you know my politics. Children dying isn’t political; it’s heartbreaking.

I am heartbroken. I’m so heartbroken that I will vote for weather updates, to prevent this from happening to any American. I will not be shamed by someone who enables these tragedies, with their support of this administration.
If your response to hearing that a bunch of people died in a flash flood is anything other than heartbreak and compassion I think you might be the baddies

This example is why I’m against Dems reaching across the aisle anymore. We should be focused on building our party, not worried about what R’s think of us.
If one person wants to kill 10,000 people, and the other wants to kill nobody, it is not reasonable to argue that a fair compromise is killing 5,000 people.

You have a right to call any senator not just your own.

There are 53 Republican Senators. We only need 4 to flip to stop this.

Call 1-4 every day. Ok to call off hours and blow up their VM.

Use the last 4 digits in PHONE column

Call every day
Blow up VM

Be vocal.
Be visible.

Great question. Because every small push back counts. There are more of us than them. We are looking to overwhelm their phones & offices. Have you ever seen one bully pick on someone in a group? When bystanders get involved, the bully backs down every time. We have power.
What has calling representatives done for us so far? They don’t answer or they give lame excuses. They don’t care about our phone calls. They’ve made it clear that they don’t represent us and aren’t afraid of the repercussions of ignoring us.

Beautiful way to describe the far right in America, too. There is no point in working with them, & why Dems who try to end up with egg on their face.
Farage and the far right in general come from a grievance culture. If you do what they want, even maximally – Brexit – they’ll move the goalposts and keep moaning. If you engage seriously with their concerns, they’ll find new ones. You will never satisfy them, because they don’t want to be satisfied
The problem with this ‘let’s weaken our commitment to the ECHR so as to fend off Farage’ plan is that when it doesn’t work, we end up with Farage *and* a weakened commitment to the ECHR at exactly the moment we need the ECHR the most.

At the very least, make a scene. Everyone present should be calling 911.
Hi, this is Meg Barnette, Brad's wife.

While escorting a defendant out of immigration court at 26 Federal Plaza, Brad was taken by masked agents and detained by ICE.

This is still developing, and our team is monitoring the situation closely.
June 17, 2025 at 7:26 PM
If we make it easy for random, masked men to kidnap people, they will continue. The day Americans start fighting back, they will stop.
Why are 20-30 people WATCHING NAZIS ABDUCT GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS?!

I’m in awe of them.
Today in Boston.

Over a million people turned out.

Even the drone couldn't get it all.

I want our next leader to have the kind of confidence that demands justice.
One of my many fears is that the next Democratic president will spend too much time talking about "the importance of not dwelling on the past" instead of prosecuting every single one of the people responsible for this nightmare.
