1. Please call or email and share your stories about how the current administration’s actions are hurting or will hurt you personally. The Senators can use these human stories to persuade those /1

Think firing the entire federal workforce will save America money?

Federal civilian employees account for just 4% of the federal budget. Even if someone like Musk—or any president—fired all of us, it wouldn’t make much of a dent in government spending. Don’t fall for it.

From a constituent in 📍 Indianapolis, IN
Restore democratic checks on Musk's alarming government overreach
The rapid consolidation of power by Elon Musk within the federal government raises serious concerns about the integrity of government processes and the separation of powers. Granting a private individual unilateral authority to dismantle agencies, access sensitive data systems, and terminate government leases without congressional oversight undermines democratic principles and accountability. The reported actions, such as Musk's team gaining access to the U.S. Treasury payment system handling trillions of dollars and locking out USAID employees, constitute an alarming overreach. This centralization of control by an unelected individual with private business interests poses risks of conflicts of interest, abuse of power, and violation of laws designed to protect government impartiality. We urge you to take immediate action to reinstate proper oversight and checks on executive authority. Restoring the traditional division of powers between the executive, legislative, and judicial branches is crucial to preserving the rule of law and preventing further erosion of democratic governance. The American people deserve a government that operates transparently, ethically, and in service of the public good – not the personal agenda of any individual, no matter how wealthy or influential. A: The rapid expansion of Elon Musk's authority within the federal government is deeply concerning. Granting sweeping, unchecked power to a private individual with immense personal wealth and business interests jeopardizes democratic principles of accountability and separation of powers. His reported actions, such as gaining access to the Treasury payment system and dismantling USAID without congressional approval, constitute a dangerous centralization of control. Restoring proper oversight by rebalancing executive, legislative, and judicial authorities is imperative to uphold the rule of law and ethical governance. The American people deserve a government that serves the public good transparently, not the agenda of any individual, wealthy or not. Immediate steps must be taken to reinstate checks on executive overreach and prevent further erosion of our democratic institutions. The consolidation of Musk's unilateral decision-making power over vital government functions and data cannot be allowed to continue unchallenged.

andrew johnson was impeached for violation of the tenure of office act. in the scheme of things, was that a huge deal? not really. the actual issue was that johnson was trying to scuttle any attempt to reconstruct the former confederate states on an egalitarian basis and *that* was intolerable

Outside of USAID headquarters, Senator Brian Schatz:

"If you want to change an agency, introduce a bill and pass a law. You cannot wave away an agency that you don't like or that you disagree with by executive order, or by literally storming into the building and taking over the servers."

A Constitutional Convention is a BAD idea. SB450 sets Indiana limits for a convention, no quarantee convention rules wouldn't override them. There are no defined processes for a Constitutional Convention.
