Have spent the day calling, emailing and texting contacts in and around HHS

Quite difficult to capture the breadth and depth of the damage done today -- or to convey how long-lasting it could be

More to say soon

Dear media,
It’s not:
“President Trump Discusses Possible Third Term.”

It’s: “Kleptocratic Wannabe Dictator Says He Can Serve ‘Third Term’ In Blatant Disregard Of The Constitution He ‘Swore’ An Oath To Defend.”

You’re welcome.

Trump’s move to shrink the Social Security Administration could result in some not receiving payments “for months,” a staffer said this week.

The staffer, who worked out of Baltimore and deals with payment systems, warned that nearly a quarter of his team is gone or will soon be gone.
Social Security staffer says people could miss payments ‘for months’ after Trump changes
This would be terrible news for those who rely on the benefits.

NEW: Thanks very much to @itstygrey.bsky.social for getting me started down this path, but apparently nearly all of these tattoos are NOT from members of Tren de Aragua. Instead, they're stolen from random places on the internet, some nearly a decade old, and from tattoo artists around the world. 🧵
Adding some more context here: The document linked above also has an unclassified ICE HSI list of some Tren de Aragua tattoos and "identifiers."

Wearing a Michael Jordan jersey can get you halfway to being deemed a TDA member, and having a nautical star tattoo can get you the rest of the way!

AMERICA
ARE YOU LISTENING

THEY SAY "FANTASTIC"

THIS IS NOT AMERICAN
What have we become?
10,000 people unemployed

10,000 families losing a source-maybe their ONLY source-of income

G-d only knows how many will now become homeless

Lose their insurance

Require public assistance

Or turn to food banks (from which Trump just slashed $billions)

And they think it's "fantastic"
Vought on HHS firing 10,000 workers: "It's fantastic ... the number of people that they're able to let ago and be able to find efficiencies at HHS. And so it's really exciting what you're seeing."
