Guys, there’s a reason why Dowell has never had a challenger get within 35 points of her since she took office. If Indivisible wants to throw money down the drain, then good luck to them. bsky.app/profile/whom...
Alderwoman Dowell (3rd ward) voted yes on the snap curfew ordinance and signed Debra Silverstein's letter calling for anti-Israeli protest art to be taken down from exhibition.

@indivisible.org would do well to bankroll any primary challenger for her.
The alderperson provided an update today: many of the already installed protections will be removed and planned protections will not be installed

This is probably the most reasonable compromise considering the worst issues were on 18th… bsky.app/profile/stev...
There’s a second update, a correction:

I have family in Denver and my impression of it is a place that’s trying extra hard to make as many blue state/city bad policy choices as possible to catch up to its established peers.

Sigcho-Lopez really fights for the title of dumbest alderman.

Yeah?

I mean, if you’re paying someone to try to boost your 4 year old’s WPPSI or CogAT score, that seems like a good way to flush money down the toilet.

Source: have you ever met a 4 year old?

And even so, how’d having Shi and CTU make noise about modifying selective enrollment work out for Johnson?

Money costs money.

Hi, what schools do your kids attend then?

I mean, in CPS, they just use CogAT scores for RGC and classical it’s a scored reading assessment IIRC.

NYC’s system is needlessly complicated, honestly.

That didn’t make any sense until I realized a payoff to the road construction unions, and now that makes perfect sense.

Ironically enough, I now indirectly have a conflict of interest because of this provision… 🤷‍♂️

I mean… Change Research had him at 15% this time last year, so his self-portrayal kind of worked.

Inpatient psychiatrist here. Let’s just say that modern cannabis keeps me employed.

Classmate from my kids’ daycare lives like 500 ft from there. Parent works for one of the major banks in the city.

CPS’s finances are about to crash and burn. CTU and Johnson are just hoping to stall that problem as long as possible so they can blame “neoliberalism” when the cuts inevitably happen under the next mayor.

Trying to pick a fight with Pritzker over funding has also been idiotic.
