Since I've been out of here for quite some time, intro update:

Hei, I'm Inari! (she/her)
I'm a French-Finnish game designer, working mostly on AA+ games from my home in Helsinki.

Previous titles include The Crew Motorfest, AC Mirage and Age of Mythology Retold.

Neurospiciness and LGBTQ+ included.
Introducing myself with "Hi, I'm Inari and I use to carve knives with lasers for a living": check

Ending with "hopepunk is not a subgenre but a framework for resistance narratives": check

Been a while since my last talk, can't say I'm not a bit stressed ✨

In response to the Polygon and Giant Bomb news, I created an indie and worker-owned games media starter pack.

I’ll keep adding to it, so suggestions and recommendations are greatly appreciated. Please share!

God, the prelude got me to tears with Sophie 😭

But I am very happy to have Lune on the team, she's such a lovable character to me, I can never get enough of her 🫶

Had a fun workshop with some team members yesterday.

We made our own DND sheets and the others then made one for us.

I feel I'm being called out for being a nerd 🤣

This is the ‘disruption’ playbook. I have really bad news for anyone stupid enough to be building reliance on generative AI into their processes. It’s so cheap!

Has anyone reached that point where they don't like games anymore? But still somewhat enjoy making them despite the state of the industry 🤔

I received a heartbreaking email today: A paper in a special issue I’m editing is being retracted because one of its authors is afraid of losing their job and their legal status in the U.S. if they publish a scientific study on evolution. Yes, on evolution, nature's engine of diversity.

Okay listening.
@itsquinns.bsky.social comment on cultural memory of gamers is a big thing for me. At cons when I'm hearing about a new game from a creator, I'll say, "Oh it is like this game from the 90s." I'll get a blank stare, then explain that element that lines up perfectly.

Ignore the terrible choice of header image, this is a great read. We cannot both be a defining medium of the 21st century, and also 'just games so don't perceive us'. Games won't make anybody fascist or violent, but the communities grown inside and around games clearly can.

THIS IS IT! This is the announce I've been softly teasing!!!

In addition to my gamedev work, I've been working on a side-project aimed at protecting and preserving the amazing trans community that's here on Bluesky.

We've seen the writing on the wall since the election, and we're taking action!
We’re excited to announce NorthSky Social Cooperative where we are building a new ATproto platform for the benefit of marginalized communities that prioritizes the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
After increasing hostility toward these communities we are taking action to provide a platform built by and for us

To all tall people at concerts:

If there is a bit of space in front of someone shorter than you, it's usually meant for us to see better by reducing the amount of space the other tall people are taking in our field of view.

It's not an invitation to come and prevent us from enjoying the spectacle.

“We think it's important to make people dream with utopias rather than dystopias."
[Thread] Caravan SandWitch is now available on Steam, Switch & PS5. This sci-fi narrative exploration game invented a new subgenre: “Provencepunk". I really enjoyed it, and recommend it. But all tastes are different, so I invite you to read this thread to find out if this game is for you. (1/16)

When I think of all the out-of-touch design takes I hear from veteran designers (not putting air quotes here out of respect) I'm wondering if I should start a blog or become a freelancer to help companies get their design direction straight...

French streaming charity event for DWB took a stance against hate.

Thousands of people got banned for disagreeing with that stance. What a world to live in. 😩

Thank you @speedons.fr 👏

Wish more of game events will do that 🥰
