Started off as a pantser but I'm increasingly becoming a plotter as I get more experience, and taking much more time writing ahead before publishing anything as I do still get flashes of inspiration sometimes and want to go back through to make sure they're hinted at throughout lol.

It's almost new years which means the netherlands is gonna have >1200 people hospitalised in one evening again, or about as much as caused by all traffic within a 2 month period. It's such a trashy holiday with how irresponsibly fireworks are used here, I just wish they banned it already.

this actually seems to be updated now to be a much more accurate 1080 days
Radboud UMC has two separate web pages for trans healthcare with two separate estimates for how long the waiting list is; they e-mail you one and send the other in regular mail. One seems to be from 2021 and the cited time from that is used by transvisie.nl as current for comparison purposes.

I see a lot of people talk about China's progress regarding high speed rail but I think people are really underestimating just how incredibly ambitious Germany is and how likely it is that Germany will become the #1 high speed rail country in the west by ~2050-2060.

the netherlands is about to figure out what a government shutdown is at this rate. it's 4 days to christmas and all they've managed is alienate the entire country. last week's budget deal has already been killed!

I'm like 70% towards calling the first Schoof cabinet as being the worst government in Dutch democratic history. Zero policy achievements, constant infighting, pissed off basically every major group in society, can't handle crises, can't negotiate with parliament despite being a minority government.
