Another evening, another meeting with councillors. Tonight the Chief Constable and I were in Wokingham discussing local policing. We talked about the increase in neighbourhood policing, more shoplifters being charged, work to tackle anti-social behaviour and efforts to improve road safety.

High streets are struggling, with pubs, restaurants and cafés shutting their doors.

Cutting VAT on hospitality and energy would put money back in people’s pockets, support local jobs, and give the country a much-needed boost.

Wokingham has a very strong Hong Kong community, many of whom have told me their concerns about Chinese espionage and its influence in British politics.

Yesterday, I asked the Minister of State at the Home Office what he is doing to protect the Hong Kong community, especially my constituents.

I was honoured to attend local Remembrance services today alongside residents across Wokingham, paying tribute to those who gave everything for our freedom.

I also continued to help raise donations for the Royal British Legion.

I also attended Send Voices Wokingham’s Local Offer Live event and celebrated Diwali.

Poland closing its airspace shows how close this war is to all of us.

Our "war-ready Britain" plan calls for action - we must urgently improve our military readiness and public awareness in the face of Putin's aggressive ambition.
Poland scrambled fighter jets and temporarily closed its airspace today after a Russian attack on Ukraine that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said lasted for more than 12 hours.

The scrambling of jets and airspace closures are becoming more frequent as multiple NATO countries report drone sightings and other incursions.

Labour’s increase to NI Contributions is devastating the profits of local businesses and inhibiting their growth.

That’s why I asked Ministers what steps the Government will take to show that they will support essential businesses.
