@albomp.bsky.social can I ask what sanctions and tariffs Australia is planning for the actions of Trump and Elon Musk? They are systematically dismantling democracy in one of our closest allies and starting a trade war with another. We cannot trust them with our national security.

Until very recently I was supervising two graduate students whose salaries came completely from NSF grants. I’m extremely glad right now that both have graduated and are no longer relying solely on those funds to survive.

I’m remembering that it was only 80 years ago when the prisoners were released from Auchwitz. It reminds me of my old neighbour who took care of me when I was working full time and studying my masters. He and his lovely wife would invite me over for dinner and send me home with food.
