Yep. I was in a wedding in the mid '70s in which I wore a pinafore and sunbonnet. Long after I outgrew the dress, I kept that sunbonnet and eventually passed it down to my stuffed animal.

I'd suggest Dr. Bronner's unscented, liquid-castille baby soap*. It's not the cheapest option, but it is super-concentrated ("Dilute! Dilute! Okay!", says the label), works really well in foaming dispensers, and is just plain soap.
