О, он таки вышел! Давно в список внес, а релиз как-то пропустил.

Seconded, but also, of all the words he could've put in quotation marks, "Island", really?

What a profoundly weird man.

I guess, I shouldn't be surprised: technical innovation (especially if it allows to cut costs) has always been the driving force behind Bekmambetov's filmmaking.

I just don't understand why he would willingly arrive at something that removes human creativity whatsoever.

Ну это если продлят 😛

Хотя там очень мощные рейтинги, так что наверняка продлят.

Even as comic book movies helped popularize the idea of reboots.

In the past twenty years, we've had four different Spider-Men and five Batmen (three of them in a single movie). We can handle a reset Bond continuity.

If they were going back to cheeky Moore/Brosnan aesthetics, they could very well play it off as a gag, like:

—Bond! They told me you were dead.
—They must've mistaken me for another fella.

It has some wild tonal shifts (though not so wild if you've watched Anwari's earlier horror Under the Shadow), but it uses sound and space in really interesting ways, especially towards the climax.

Also, I love how its main theme is an unsettling arrangement of a Depeche Mode song 😅

Not to go into too many spoilers, but Badlands is very much a rebuke of the "lone, tough survivalist" narrative these idiots idolize.

The protagonist prevails only by learning to trust his allies and listening to the world around him.

Henceforth, every Predator movie should have a pair of legs walking somewhere with robotic determination.

Well, thanks, now I'm imagining Plummer as Dr. Schultz in Django Unchained!

Also, in this house, we stan Bud.

"What if Disney pet sidekick, but ugly" is such a cool concept!

It's the beginning of a Rolling Stone article covering The Force Awakens just before its release.

Was just amused by all the pre-Trump doomposting. Little did we know!
