b) the issue, one he constantly wants to deflect attention from, whittles away his support because it's something his base has rallied around. They've been expecting explosive revelations, and suddenly their champion doesn't even want to talk about it?

It's not a silver bullet; it's 1000 cuts.

Talk about obey(ing) in advance. 🙄

The significance of the Epstein Files (not including those directly affected by the crimes, obv.) politically is that:

a) all time and energy Trump spends deflecting from the controversy is time he's not devoting to other destructive actions, &

I got an 86, but I don't know whether I wanted it high or low. (OMG, is this post performative?!? ... )

And just to be clear: no, men concerned with their own personal "state of masculinity" doing horrific things is not "fine"; rather, those people's own "state(s) of masculinity" are "fine." It's their concerns with their "state(s) of masculinity" that's the problem, not the state(s) themselves.

In answer: a) you're right, there's room for nuance, though that nuance informs my second answer b) perhaps there are others concerned, though I'm not sure why, because, yes, I think with regards to the "state of masculinity," everything is indeed "fine." Feel free to be as concerned as you like 🙄

The only people concerned with the "state of masculinty" are males overly, and perhaps unhealthily, concerned with how they're perceived. No one else is remotely concerned with the "state of masculinity."

First, they came for the Satan-worshiping, Marxist/communist fascist members of the America-hating DemoRat party ...

Running from the shotgun has the exact opposite effect of play-action. PA is designed to draw defenders from where the ball is going; shotgun, generally speaking, doesn't draw defenders away from where the ball is going. Those defenders are still starting near the line.

I suspect "adrift" is putting it much too mildly ...

I got this email (not sure if this is a "survey," but I finalized shipping, etc.). Am I supposed to have something else? (Didn't see anything in spam ...) :

You're all set.

Your pledge has been finalized for Our Long National Nightmare by Tom Tomorrow, and any funds are now making their way over

It's "Moby Dick" in space. It even uses some of MD's dialogue.
November 8, 2025 at 8:04 PM
Yeah? And how'd that work out? I don't think putting my faith in "even those nominally on his side" is a winning bet-- but love to be wrong. 🙄
November 8, 2025 at 9:05 AM
I agree with this 100%, but I think your previous comment is probably wishful thinking. The credulousness happening here is breathtaking. 🙄

"Now, I don't have to deal with you," resonates with every New Yorker ...

I think the point here is that many of the tech bro-types think they're like the "heroes" of that extremely long and tedious book, but ironically (as the link exemplifies) they are, at their cores, products of society and actually more like the villains of that extremely long and tedious book.

Definitely a sign the Dems need to tack to the center ... 🙄

Lotta bad tackling in that game.
