I just went to have a chat with @stwc.bsky.social campaigners in Brighton and Hove. I asked a guy at the desk wearing a #FreePalestine t-shirt what that means to him. He refused to answer and accused me of supporting genocide. I seriously doubt they’ll stop any war with that level of dialogue.

Palestinians & Israelis aren’t going anywhere. Any ‘solution’ must start from that baseline, then solving how they share land in mutual peace, equality & self-determination. Otherwise it’s not a solution. It’s a further escalation. And— even if it’s just rhetorical— we don’t need any more of those.
This would be an unlawful seizure of territory in violation of the United Nations Charter, and the forcible transfer of the population of Gaza would constitute crimes against humanity.

Today we watched the emotional return of Keith, Yarden and Ofer that reminded us once again: deals save lives. We need more reunions, more diplomacy, more agreements, more sanctification of life. We need a complete ceasefire deal that will bring all of the hostages home and end the war for good.

I see a lot of praise for the strength of the Jewish #Israeli mothers who fought tirelessly to get their daughters back alive from Gaza, and rightly so. But why is that considered strength when other non-violent forms of protest are considered weakness when compared to military solutions?

Shame on the Red Cross for being a willing participant in Hamas's despicable theatrics. Parading young Israeli female hostages in front of a mob of militants & local residents who were herded into participating in the spectacle is terrible for the women, and portrays Gazans in a horrendous light.

Hamas's methodology: fight in flip-flops & civilian clothes, hide in schools, hospitals, tunnels, set up aid theft/looting gangs, leave 2 million Gazans to face a ferocious war on their own, only to miraculously find your clean uniforms, guns & cars when a ceasefire is announced.
