There’s someone interviewed in Vox from the right who basically said TPUSA hadn’t reached out to normies. He pointed out that BLM folks had done work talking with reporters, academics, and others before George Floyd was murdered.

TPUSA wanted that same groundswell but hadn’t done the work.

The immediate follow-up had oddities as well. Trump moved on quickly, and Erika Kirk appeared to be moving on to JD Vance.

I live in AZ where TP is based, and a nearby city council rejected a call to rename a bridge for CK.

In addition to other points, the memory of CK within the movement was too contradictory.

At the public memorial, Trump talked about revenge while Erika Kirk talked about forgiveness. The latter might resonate with that audience enough that the internal movement wasn’t strong.

What kind of zine maker isn‘t prepared to accept goats on the barrel? That’s just being unprofessional.

A major problem in the country is that for years, regular people have actually been made to feel and have sometimes been told to leave "THE LAW" to the "professionals I.e. THE LAWYERS" and that was always ridiculous for multiple reasons. But it succeeded in distancing regular people from organizing.

You know what causes stuff to fall down? Being on fire for hours.

One time I was driving around listening to our local college radio station and they played something that made me think yes, this is the kind of super-weird avant-garde local stuff they should play on a college station. It turned out it was Fiona Apple.

A lot of folks at the Gaza protests are dealing with arrests, court cases, expulsions, and other issues.

Frankly, there’s a small group of older folks who actively broke a lot of that energy, and a lot of legacy media was tolerant of those actions.
