There are SO many different ways you could create a handmade postcard, right? You can experiment with materials, tools, layers, words and images, applications and styles - in infinitum. Personally it's one of the things I love most about art. No matter how you try to do something on repeat - it will turn out differently every time and surprise you.

After creating the (probably childless) Citrus Cat Lady in my square glue book, I'm continuing on with another spread. Let's call it the blue-footed bird page for now. I've made spreads in my art journals, used them in collage and one year I also made a whole series of DIY Postcards featuring only stamps. I loved how those turned out. So this summer, when I went to the recycle center with my brother to throw out a bunch of things he no longer wanted, I rescued his cancelled postal stamp collection.

It's a good idea, when you feel overwhelmed or even a bit stressed by your own ideas, to sit down and fill a spread in a notebook.
