Hi! I'm an artist & writer that works with collage, embroidery, book art & mixed media. I also create junk journals. 🇸🇪

I have been blogging for +20 years and filled art journals for almost as long. Colors is my happy place. 🌈

A little side view of my lastest embroidery to brighten the grey. 😊
Fun fact, I used over 75 different coloured skeins of thread in that piece. The details and textures are what keep me going… 🪡🌿🌺

Using Postal Stamps as Collage Ephemera
I have never collected postal stamps as a "real collector" but I still love them, and I do love using Postal Stamps as Collage Ephemera. I've made spreads in my art journals, used them in collage and one year I also made a whole series of DIY Postcards featuring only stamps. I loved how those turned out. So this summer, when I went to the recycle center with my brother to throw out a bunch of things he no longer wanted, I rescued his cancelled postal stamp collection.

I do like November for a #gratitude mindset reset. You, too?

Here are some practical, no-nonsense reminders for nurturing a gratitude mindset and making a gratitude practice a habit.

It was 20 years ago today... Cast On began to play. It's the anniversary of the very first episode of my podcast!

Twenty. Years.

In Internet years that's practically Neolithic.

Today in my blog posting challenge "Spotted Photo Theme" we're looking at doors! Are you a fan of photographing beautiful doors that you pass when you're on holiday? Do you notice rustic doors frames, painted mail boxes and ornate door knobs and tilt your head to get a look of it from the right angle? Do you stop to snap a picture of people's homes, hoping they won't spot you standing outside their front door and think you a creep planning a crime?

Blogging Gets Serious in 2001 With Warblogs and Movable Type
After September 11, 2001, an influx of warblogs shakes up the blogosphere. It's part of a year-long transition in which blogging shifts from personal journaling to a more journalistic approach.

It's a good idea, when you feel overwhelmed or even a bit stressed by your own ideas, to sit down and fill a spread in a notebook. Writing down a list of all the things you want to do and get done, sure that can be great, but even more, not doing anything about the ideas except forgetting about them for a while.

As far as I can remember I have never posted a "sorry for my absence" in blogging, and that's intentional. I do think women tend to say "sorry" way too often...

The issue of Too Many Ideas
To create is to live twice. – Albert Camus I haven't updated in a while, but my few but dear blogging companions kept going. Robin of Robayre writes about two recent losses (one turned out great, the other unexpected and sad). Mary-Ann has, after doing a public count-down for years, finally stopped working to enjoy retired life. Her joy of being finally free is contagious.

In the entire circle of the year there are no days so delightful as those of a fine October, when the trees are bare to the mild heavens, and the red leaves bestrew the road, and you can feel the breath of winter, morning and evening—no days so calm, so tenderly solemn, and with such a reverent meekness in the air.
