I've been making games for too long

Might be, I'm actually playing in a private browser mode, just reloading the tab. 🤔

But the saddest part is that the save system is broken somewhat: instead of getting to my last level on Continue, I'm starting with (level - 1) or even (level - 2) - not sure exactly :/

Congrats! I like the idea, especially the twist when you get a troll. Unfortunately, my Safari keeps making the game tab empty for some reason, maybe related to this error or not:

ERROR: Condition "navigation_map.is_null()" is true.

Digging the HUD you've got! :)

What do you mean by fake? I've seen these icons somewhere before 🤔

Perhaps, the fog distance could be increased, so things that are close or in mid range are more colorful?

Ah, and by the way, UX isn't the same as UI. A problem with UX doesn't have to be only related to UI layout. Just in case there is a misunderstanding here.

These are just examples, of course. Problems are solved faster because they are discovered faster and their severity is assessed faster. Since Godot is constantly evolving, by the time these are resolved (a few years after being reported), they are going to be replaced by some newly added issues.

I remember playing the original jam version, congratulations! :)

And unfortunately when one has dozens of issues at once, it's easier for them to drop the engine than to report even a single of the issues they are facing. Or often they are already reported somewhere at Github and stay forgotten then for a few years.

Scenes sometimes corrupting, undo sometimes undoing things not expected, scenes can be inherited, but better not inherit them because of various issues, and so on. I think such issues could instantly be found during usability tests, without waiting for months for written feedback from someone.

For me personally Godot in most areas has more to offer than I need for my projects. But I have an engineer's mindset. For designer folks I know trying to use Godot, it's kind of a mine field in the current state. They come with an open mind and almost run away crying...

Well, it's not Godot 3.x days anymore, there are dedicated hired people in plenty of areas. I think improving UX actually even has a certain return of investment value. Like, Blender sponsorship skyrocketed with the version 3 release.

I wonder though if Godot has at least one full-time UX paid team member? Not a programmer passionate about UX, but an actual experienced experience guy? :)

I'm not an artist, but blend shapes do work with GLTF, as we used them in one Godot project. An annoying thing though that blend shapes parameters are by default applied not per every game object, but per model. There is a flag somewhere in the inspector to change this behavior to per instance...
