Good Grief
@ignominious.bsky.social
If you think “hearing from all sides” is a useful way to spend your time, you may have too much time on your hands. Give me sound logic or talk to someone else. My time is too valuable for nonsense.
Apologies in advance. I don’t read or repost Substack.
Dude lies about reading the Wealth of Nations and then has the unmitigated gall to passive agressively warn us we should all stop lying.

I’ve changed my mind. I like adjectives again.😍
November 9, 2025 at 12:56 PM
Or as Trump likes to put it, “He knew what he signed up for.”

I’m happy for Charlotte, but sad for Waxhaw. I was hoping people here would reject walls.😢

I’m just popping in to refute her claim here. As a mother of four ranging from 19 to 9, I’d call 911. It’s exactly what every figure of authority in my life has told me to do if I think I’m in danger. It’s also what I would tell my kids to do.
These people really think police are useless.😳

Ick.😒
Good luck, Maine, if you elect this guy.
November 3, 2025 at 12:09 PM
Yeah, the article gets into that a bit, but I’m not sure how much I’d hold this attitude against people. There were a few economists early on that held out hope Trump would be an anti-monopoly president. Having hopes where Trump is concerned is a little nutty, but some people are optimists.
November 2, 2025 at 11:51 PM
Ummm…on what evidence are you basing your hopes, Mr. Gates?
I mean, hope doesn’t pay for innovation.
Either he’s blowing smoke up everyone’s skirts, or he’s not operating in reality. Given that the latter is ultimately a money-losing strategy, I’m gonna go with the former.😒

I keep circling back to what everyone knew but refused to discuss before the crash in ‘08. I presume Mike Johnson reads (and maybe even hears from) economists. Republicans don’t want to get caught overseeing another economic collapse, but I don’t see how they keep this up for another three years.
October 28, 2025 at 4:08 PM
That’s a bit of an oversimplification, isn’t it?

The conversation happening in Maine makes me feel a bit unmoored.
Dude typed out the R-word *in 2021*, proofed what he typed, thought it was great, and hit Send.
Not saying ban the guy from politics, but reward him with a Senate seat???
Or is this normal now???

$2 says this woman is staunchly anti-abortion and doesn’t believe pregnancy is dangerous.🙄
If people are this stupid, health insurers may need to cut and run.
It also might be time for states/corporations to start requiring public health records at borders/events to protect interstate commerce.
October 20, 2025 at 12:41 PM
What’s a “mega embassy”, she innocently asks.
***clicks through***
Holy hot buttered biscuits😳😳😳

The other one.
October 16, 2025 at 9:06 PM
I mean…yeah. Red states are going to be looking around going, “Why did all the doctors and teachers leave or quit?”
I’d like to suggest to blue state schools that they drastically lower or eliminate out-of-state tuition requirements as well. You’ll save a bunch of brains…and probably some lives.

Case in point:
Assuming this Canadian bank is either: a) not paying attention to the environment in Texas, b) ignoring the environment in Texas, or c) likes the idea of terrorizing women and immigrants for sport?
Could Canadians get a comment, Scotiabank?

How many of those multitude of institutions is preemptively halting treatment? Also, this is confusing. Isn’t the Republican argument around minors that parents are in charge? So, now parents *are* in charge…except when they’re not?
How do they argue both sides in court?
August 26, 2025 at 1:52 AM
Oof. Nope.
I’m not usually an emotional unfollower, but I guess today’s the day.
I can tolerate quite a bit. Only one party has spent the past 50 years painting representative government as the enemy. Claiming I’m an idiot for supporting the OTHER party gets you an unfollow.

I’m glad to see it not framed as a “young people these days just don’t want to work” story. That’s a relief.
July 18, 2025 at 2:27 PM
As always, @ryanhatesthis.bsky.social, thanks for the giggle snort.🤣

This is absolutely all I need to read about this guy to now disregard his opinion about literally everything.
Now I’m sad, because I did NOT used to be this judgmental about people’s opinions. Everyone has a right to them, but having uninformed opinions should NOT be a career.
June 27, 2025 at 3:50 PM
Well, she sounds like a real piece of work. Well done, Florida.😒

You know one of the literal definitions of “artificial” is “fake”, right?
Words still have meaning…for the moment.

Hi, @nbcnews.com:
Just a friendly critique about your headline.
When you say “Powell defends Federal Reserve independence”, you imply *someone* was attacking it.
The newsworthy thing that happened wasn’t that Powell defended the Fed—it’s that someone attacked it.
That’s your headline.
Do better.🙏
