Most viewed in UK news. Truly surreal. Io Pan! 🐐✨

Hail Pan!
A reader told me she was asked to take off her Hellebore “Wind in the Willows” jumper before entering Westminster Abbey. The reason given was that it depicts the devil and might offend people. The reader explained it was the Greek god Pan, but the security guard didn’t backtrack. Satanic panic 2025.

Trump and his cronies have the BBC in their sights. Leaders can’t stay silent while one of our great institutions is attacked.

We must defend its independence, end political appointments, and remove Robbie Gibb from the Board.

We need to make thinking and imagination FUN again because it bloody IS.
Find a way to make bad music with pots, craft a surprise party for your parents, come up with all the steps to put a cardboard fort in your friend's garden, and before you know it, you can tackle ANYTHING

ART IS LIVING

Guesses on who the #Lewes #Bonfire effigies will be:

(Former) Prince Andrew
Elon Musk
Netanhayu (if they're feeling particularly provocative)
Rachael Reeves
Donald Trump (obvious but a perennial favourite).

Saw @realgdt.bsky.social Frankenstein. Loved Caravaggio lighting, Catholic reliquary imagery particularly in the Monster's creation, spectacular use of colour, and Kate Hawley's costume design which will definitely influence everything soon. This film is a thick juicy steak for cinematic anemia.

Probability wise, they should have least caught one traitor by blind luck.

I think they are statistically the worst Faithful group there has ever been.

An absolutely outstanding conversation between @timclare.bsky.social & Irving Finkel tonight at Canterbury Festival.

Loved the theory of "deep pointlessness" of games, Tim's recommendation of Magical Athlete (already on the Christmas list) and discovering so many ways to play German infrastructure.

And another British cultural icon: '99 ice creams and ice cream vans are because of post-Napoleonic Italian immigrants.
fish & chips is Jewish street food. it's well-documented Victorian Jewish immigrants started selling it.

I well remember my grandmother doing a big batch of 'fried fish' in matzo meal every Friday to eat cold for Shabbes lunch. I'm willing to bet 'white English' people don't have that memory.
(The chicken tikka masala thing is backed up by opinion poll after opinion poll. I suspect its popularity might be slipping a bit largely because lots of people’s taste in curries is no longer quite so basic.)

Stephen Fry proposes something completely ingenious and never done before on Traitors... as is ignored completely, which is very in keeping with the Traitors. #CelebrityTraitors

“Theatre essentially relies on people having had the privilege of an education that allows them to believe that they’re entitled to go to the theatre... It’s a relatively small group of people that is available to..."

I mean, pretty much yeah.

I'm just going to put it out there #ttrpg community...

I don't enjoy Actual Plays. I'm sure people do, but they're not for me.
Watching professional comedians and improvisers playing any ttrpg makes me feel less good about playing, like I'm not as witty or erudite in my play/character choices.
