I grew mine out in hopes of inviting "whimsy" back into my life, but I've succeeded only in auto-Flanderizing myself into some kind of dread-filled, oily buffoon who collects crumbs and denies himself respect. Now the future is bristling with difficulties as well.

We must prevent Wisconsin from attaining nuclear weapons at all costs. We need a pre-emptive strike (in violation of whatever international laws) against the uranium enrichment labs in Prairie du Chien and Waukesha, whether authorized by Congress or not.

I think its a mix of songwriting becoming less folky and relatable as radio declined, and countercultural music outliving its constituents. Maybe there's a meandering thru-line from Buffalo Springfield to Voivod to 100 Gecs but it feels like a lot of music just isn't about regular people anymore.

The 80's Town Cars were cool; kind of like if an Abrams tank had a plush upholstery and burled paneling everywhere. They presented it as the self-consciously-foppish car of choice, which might have turned off gen-X.

When my old apartment had bedbugs and I couldn't sleep there, I used to go to Montrose Beach and sleep in the sand during the day, before going to work. It was during the early spring so I was able to grab some shut-eye, disturbed only by occasional visits from wedding parties and other weirdos.

Duckworth replied to me many months ago citing a need for interoperability of US and IOF equipment. I guess she means being able to blow up our communications equipment if the flow of blood money thins even a little bit? I'm not surprised she doesn't answer messages anymore; she's busy being bribed.
