I have a paper in this co-authored by the excellent Ned Coleman-Fountain, David Abbott & Alex Toft. It’s a piece of work I’m really proud of. It gets at some nuanced complexities of gender &sexuality in PA. Great to see it out with all its paper pals in this special issue. Excited to read the others
Very proud to share this special issue of Feminism and Psychology, co-edited with Rebecca Lawthom

** Disability as a feminist issue **

It includes papers on trauma, affect, sexism, psycho-emotional disablism, care, contesting psy, sexuality & more!

A bit biased, but if you're looking to follow a really good account, @uofgsociology.bsky.social might be the one. (Yes, it is my own department/division/whatever we are called now, but it's filled with a lot of good people and lots of fantastic research)

Really pleased to be able to share this intro to my research as part of an Academic Fellowship with Scottish Parliament. I'm in the midst of data generation and analysis at the moment so was good to return to my initial ideas and motivation. Watch this space for more outputs over the coming months
NEW: How do lived experience perspectives impact decisions in the Scottish Parliamentary process?💡🗣️

@clemmiehilloconnor.bsky.social writes about her research which aims to better understand how this evidence is used and how it influences policy decision making.

Writing my 2nd last lecture for Bureaucracy & Violence, which is about resistance and I may or may not be incorporating watching this classic speech into the lecture (depressing how it is more timely than ever): www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7GY... #academia #bureaucracy #bureaucraticviolence #sociology

I'm absolutely delighted that Sweden made the wise decision to send this iconic banger and instant classic to #Eurovision www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIvt... (I usually am not a Eurovision person, but I really want this song to win)

Disabled people are about to get completely screwed by this Government (I know it was bad before. It is about to get much worse).
This is shocking. ITV reporting that even those with extreme disabilities in the unfit to work category are likely to lose money under new government plans. Charities have branded the move catastrophic

The mass shooting in Örebro is absolutely horrific and heartbreaking. Some of the newspaper speculation I've seen has been downright weird, if not borderline inappropriate. It is also a good reminder that 'new information' is not the same as knowledge

Black ice everywhere and due to (what I assume is) underfunding there has been no salting of roads or anything. Consequently, I will do my best impersonation of a flat troll for the foreseeable future. Stay safe out there, folks.

#Wicked (Part 1) is a movie showing the cost of standing up to fascism, the importance of solidarity, that conformity is never liberation, and there's something in there about sacrificing principles for proximity to power (the Glinda of it all). All with a pretty great soundtrack.
