Well, to be fair, the first half of the OG Dragon Ball, well, you can still tell Toriyama was in the Dr. Slump comedy writer mindset before it eventually did a tonal shift.

We also couldn't have imagined it becoming a franchise. I mean, I wasn't born until '87, so my introduction was TNG, but I still did watch the original when I caught reruns eventually.

Right now, the current Trek show is exploring the crew on the Enterprise from before you guys arrived.

Sort of how I feel about the upcoming The Stand movie, we don't need another adaptation of that book. So, I almost hope it fails so that Hollywood stops recycling older King adaptations and focus on his un-adapted works...like, I dunno, The Library Policeman.

Doubt Rook will be in it, considering they left the Romulus and all. Still, if Alvarez isn't involved...may I suggest whoever it is that directed Alien: Earth.

I actually saw CD-i in the wild when I was a kid, was at a local electronics store with my grandmother and a cousin. I was like 4 or 5 at the time, so the memory is mostly a blur

@cctakato.bsky.social I mean, think about that, an entire theme park land scored by the former leader of Oingo Boingo\composer of such movies as Beetlejuice, Spider-Man, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Batman, The Frighteners, Men in Black, Mars Attack, etc.

But yeah, the main plot (several side plots including one about gold, farmers, a parson calling their town a hive of sin) is about...polyamory. Yeah, Marvin and Eastwood share a wife in this

Like, get this, the main plot (there are several subplots) is about polyamory, like Marvin and Eastwood are both married to Jean Seberg.

@cctakato.bsky.social He should be careful, unless he wants to wind up like John Candy in Summer Rental with a bad sunburn.

Land of the Lost, but it's the 1991 version.
