@mst3kofficial.bsky.social Rewatching the City Limits episode, and recognized an actor in the movie, Don Opper aka Charlie of the Critters franchise. This guy. He went from City Limits to appearing in a movie often called a Gremlins rip-off, despite being developed at the same time.

@thehorrorguru.bsky.social Hey Josh, check out what I now have on UHD\Blu-Ray. And yes, the case the set is in...is made of wool.

@therealjims.bsky.social Well, I have watched a movie from the pile of "The Simpsons didn't make this up?" pile, guess what, it's not as bad as it's reputation makes it sound, but it's also nothing like the parody, and the real thing would disturb Bart and Homer for it's plot, not the musical thing

Land of the Lost, but it's the 1991 version.

@linkara.bsky.social Seeing how you reviewed the first 3, thought you might find this cool or somewhat intriguing...this is my new Blu-Ray boxset of the Hell House LLC movies. Yes, there are physical copies of them, thanks to Australia's Umbrella Entertainment.

@thehorrorguru.bsky.social Occurred to me, a character on She-Hulk with the last name Blaze mentions a cousin Johnny....I wonder who he was referring to...yep...flaming skull head is a part of the MCU. (Not counting Agents of SHIELD, that show's canonicity is dubious)

@thehorrorguru.bsky.social Well, this is a remake I had no idea was happening.
February 8, 2025 at 1:47 PM
@cctakato.bsky.social I realize that the guys surrounding then 20th Century Fox head Alan Ladd must've thought he was nuts to greenlight these two movies...believing they would bomb. Especially the second one, since it took so long, Ladd was gone mid-production.

Well, finally bit a bullet and subscribed to the streaming service Britbox, likely due to my love of British tv.

Why? Well, while @elittlechild.bsky.social and @seanferrick.bsky.social will be disappointed, the sole reason wasn't classic Doctor Who, it was being to able to see this show again.

So, with the snow...I am wondering if the mail will even come. I live in New Orleans...I have a feeling our postal service aren't exactly equipped for snow this thick.

And in a lesser crime, back when she was a male, she co-starred in one of the two movies that lead to the birth of the Golden Raspberry Awards (Opposite of the Oscars).

And what do you know said movie starred Orange Man's favorite band.

@thehorrorguru.bsky.social It's snowing here in New Orleans
January 21, 2025 at 7:50 PM
@cctakato.bsky.social Snow here in New Orleans is rare...let alone snow as thick as this.
January 21, 2025 at 7:41 PM
@thewiredone.bsky.social Snow in New Orleans...seen it before but not this thick...and yes, that's my footprint.
January 21, 2025 at 7:39 PM
Update on the snow, it's thicker now @chadrocco.bsky.social

It's snowing in New Orleans! Images were taken from my front door...this is my street.

Part of me is now wondering if @benstiller.redhour.com even remembers doing this movie?

Note, I like this movie, despite how weird it is.

@phelous.bsky.social Seeing how you just reviewed one take on the story...what's your opinion on the George Pal version of Tom Thumb?
January 11, 2025 at 6:09 PM
@thehorrorguru.bsky.social So, were you aware Trick or Treat is finally getting a North American Blu-Ray release?

Key word in that sentence is North American.

Coming this March from Synapse Films in both standard BD and 4K UHD. (Since I have a standard player., I'm getting the former)

@cctakato.bsky.social This was delivered by Amazon to me this past Sunday.

All 15 Showa Era Godzilla films, on Blu-Ray and in one box set. Too bad it's too big for any of my current shelves.

Sadly, the US rights for Heisei and Millennium eras are all over the place...so nothing like this for them.

@joshknight1st.bsky.social @marzgurl.com Look what arrived from Amazon yesterday. This is a Blu-Ray box set of all fifteen Showa Era Godzilla films.

@thehorrorguru.bsky.social Looks what's finally heading to Blu-Ray this month.
January 3, 2025 at 3:29 PM
Well, at least I know that unlike the Salkind's, you won't just call it Superman on screen and "Superman: The Movie" every where else.

Seriously, what was with those two and that? They even did it with a Christmas movie...onscreen, this is "Santa Claus", it's "Santa Claus: The Movie" else where
