I was at 1984 and 85, this is from one of them. I would have been 19-20 and in my tent. That’s stress alopecia, not a trendy haircut!

Unpacking them - so many brought back such strong memories. But TBH, a lot I didn’t even remember I had. A fully signed copy of Babble by TPE? No idea. This Charming Man 12” - teenage yearning in a rush. And I’m 60. Though three copies of Kiss by Age of Chance might be hard to defend

Just today I finishing sorting my LPs that had been in boxes for 10 months after we moved from Stoke Newington to North Berwick. It was so many books I let go - a couple of thousand at least. But the records, the first bought more than 50 years ago, I just couldn’t let go. So much a part of my life

@grantmcphee.bsky.social thought you might be interested in this flier. 1985 or 86, I remember seeing them two or three times as a student in Plymouth in front of a handful of people. As I’m sure you know, the guys at Meat Whiplash record shop were huge fans and brought them to the West Country

I saw the Meltdown shows, but the first time I saw him was at the Garage doing his Harry Smith thing - an absolutely wonderful show, made perfect by Chrissie Hynde telling me to ‘fuck off’ when I tried to say hello at the bar

To celebrate Garth Hudson I watched The Last Waltz and drank a few beers. And I took Scorsese’s advice

No such thing as the records you ‘must have’, just the LPs you like. If you have the space and money, buy more when the mood takes/you come across something interesting

Great photo, not seen that before.
I used to volunteer at the same homeless service as Eve - she was kind enough to sign a couple of my records

They love the smell of people. This was mine earlier tonight. She’ll wrap herself in any bit of work clothing she finds. It’s comforting
