Reaper Grease are definitely a long-forgotten 70s blues rock bottom-of-the-bill four-piece

I drove like a devil to Norfolk from Stoke Newington to see the goal again on MoTD. It’s also the holiday where we had the “fucking hell where is he?” panic on the beach when we lost sight of our boy in the crowd on the beach

We had a holiday cottage at Wells booked from the Friday. But then I bagged a pair for Wimbledon v United on the Saturday. Wife reluctantly agreed if I drive us down after the match. It was the game Beckham scored from the halfway line. We were at the HW line and he kicked from right bin front of us

I was at 1984 and 85, this is from one of them. I would have been 19-20 and in my tent. That’s stress alopecia, not a trendy haircut!

That’s a clip from the 1972 Rock n Roll Revival show at Wembley. It’s a curiously important and forgotten event. The MC5 played, most of Dr Feelgood backed Heinz, and Malcolm and Viv were flogging proto-Sex t-shirts. I have a DVD of the day, it’s definitely worth investigating

Made the pilgrimage on my first visit to the city. Bought an album by the Downliners Sect, fella behind the counter was very much unmoved by my selection

I remember a day at the Hop Farm Festival - Magazine, Patti Smith, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Morrissey. That was a messed up running order

MIA so far are In Search of Space and signed and dedicated copies of A Distant Shore and Atmosphere. We shall see what the last of the boxes reveal

Unpacking them - so many brought back such strong memories. But TBH, a lot I didn’t even remember I had. A fully signed copy of Babble by TPE? No idea. This Charming Man 12” - teenage yearning in a rush. And I’m 60. Though three copies of Kiss by Age of Chance might be hard to defend

Just today I finishing sorting my LPs that had been in boxes for 10 months after we moved from Stoke Newington to North Berwick. It was so many books I let go - a couple of thousand at least. But the records, the first bought more than 50 years ago, I just couldn’t let go. So much a part of my life
