The modern way is to use an app to control such things! I'm not enthused by this approach but I have to say I like our WiFi enabled cat feeder

This tells me is you have completely ignored what SEND parents have told you about the damage prioritising attendance does to children and parents and opted for more of the same.

The problem is more that attendance is so intensely targeted, my experience is that is prioritised over wellbeing and education. For many children 100% attendance is unobtainable
