The EAC report on Environmental sustainability and housing growth identified key blockers in the system '....a dearth of ecological, planning and construction skills.' Maybe that's part of the answer 🤔

Indeed - doesn't exactly restore faith in politics does it. Not a single Labour MP, not even Mary Creagh the Minister for Nature.

Unfortunately not a single labour MP voted for the amendment

It did make me chuckle when I saw this story

It says something about my expectations when I'm not in the least surprised. No surprise that they're haemorrhaging votes

Ooh! The furthest east that I've heard of. Excellent 👌

Says it all...'Whilst we have some environmental standards, they are a small part.'

Having declared a nature emergency and with swifts shamefully on their way to extinction in Wales surely the Welsh Govt need to pull out
all the stops. It is so disappointing that Labour are not meeting their obligations to future generations who may be deprived of witnessing these wonderful birds.

Also very disappointing from @rebeccaevansms.bsky.social who felt that swift bricks could detract from rather than complement biodiversity measures and swift bricks might be left with the only outcome. It is surely possible to ensure that this is not the case?

Thanks to those who spoke in favour of the petition but some awful contributions too. Joel James's comments about the mess caused by swifts revealed his ignorance. Imagine having the confidence to speak in a debate yet have so little knowledge of the bird in question.

Think I've found it now

Hi Julia, I'm struggling to find where to watch the debate? Any ideas? Thanks!
