Expect plenty of dire warnings about minority govt. But what sort of a mandate will @albomp.bsky.social have when the ALP primary vote is likely to be barely one in three? Power sharing in a balanced parliament will be the most democratic & productive outcome. #auspol
Six days to go: PM warns against pitfalls of minority government
Anthony Albanese has issued an 11th-hour warning to undecided voters, as Labor faces a late challenge from a 28-seat blitz by Peter Dutton.

The ALP/LNP designed the #NACC to be a dud. #NACC Commissioner Paul Brereton inspires no confidence. He should go. If back in the Senate I’ll press hard for the NACC be given real teeth and to hold public hearings. #FederalICACNow #auspol

Including mandatory sentencing in the Hate Crimes Bill was yet another example of the major parties teaming up to ram laws through the Parliament that pollute good policy with bad politicking.

Mandatory sentencing does not work & should be repealed.

Was sports rorts a waste?
Was Paladin a waste?
Were the French subs a waste?
Was the legal defence of robotdebt?

A party whose entire history is nothing more than a list of corrupt dealings with public money should not lecture us on waste.

In her new Govt efficiency role, Senator Nampijinpa Price should go straight to Defence, our most incompetent procurement agency. She can start by looking at the LNP’s $4B French sub spend that delivered no subs, and move to their #AUKUS fantasy that’ll cost $368B. #auspol

Cost of living pressures are high, but delaying climate action will cost even more!
Australians are already paying for climate impacts, and without urgent action to reduce emissions and adapt to climate risks, the price of inaction will be far greater.

We can’t afford not to act on climate.

The fastest growing political party in Australia isn't a party at all.

Approximately 1/3 of voting Australians didn't vote for any of the major parties at the '22 election.

The rise of the community independents, candidates not beholden to any party, is changing our political scene for the better.

Do the folks who want to tear up bike lanes not understand that if the cyclists are not in the bike lanes they are in the lanes with the cars? In most cases in their own cars? Which means they are now (noisy, polluting) traffic? More car lanes just means more cars.
