TIL about a memorial ceremony in Iceland in 2019 to mark the end of a glacier, changing the place name from Okjökull to Ok (jökull = glacier). Uncompromising wording on the bronze plaque:
"This is to acknowledge that we know what is happening and what needs to be done. Only you know if we did it".

RFK Jr: It's gonna be the biggest infusion of federal dollar into rural healthcare in American history

BERNIE SANDERS: Yeah. You know why? Because you're cutting $150b for rural hospitals, you're putting $50b back. That's not an infusion. That's a loss of $100b.

“I feel like I’ve been lied to”

The words of an anti-vax chiropractor who become seriously ill with measles and spread it to his kids, who then also became seriously ill. All four kids were hospitalized.

You *were* lied to. And you wanted to believe that lie.

TikTok removed this video after 150k+ views, thousands of likes, and hundreds of shares. Before removing it, they limited shares, added a content warning, and gave people strikes for downloading and reposting.

My followers over there have asked me to share it here so they can still access it.

Have you had unexplained tachycardia, crushing fatigue, sweating, digestive issues, sleep disturbances, dizziness or fainting since your Covid infection?

It could be POTS/Dysautonomia, a disorder of the autonomic nervous system that is frequently seen in Long Covid patients:
Living Life Upside Down - An Intro to POTS/Dysautonomia
I live my life horizontally thanks to a condition called POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome). It's poorly understood, often misdiagnosed and can be devastating to quality of life.

In the US I’m concerned we may see a return to foisting all disability and mental health concerns onto mental institutions and prisons. Disappearing inconvenient populations and subjugation of vulnerable people is a running theme here. Eugenics is of course the cornerstone.
It’s troubling to see multiple countries pushing the idea that everyone can “overcome” their disabilities & get back to work

The UK says “if you don’t want to be written off we’ll assist you with back to work plan”

Canada keeps expanding MAiD & refers to disabled people as “economically inactive”
Senator John Kennedy wants people on Medicaid to "get off your ass" and get jobs.

Your local library is a treasure, probably a bigger treasure than you think.

You don't need audible, they have audiobooks! You don't need online subscriptions - they have them for you!

Mine has free tickets to museums & the zoo, social events, sewing machines, DJ equipment, a 3D printer, & MORE.
Support local libraries. We’re witnessing censorship on a massive scale. Digital scrubbing is modern day equivalent of book burning

Our ability to get accurate info about public health, science, history, LGBTQ & marginalized groups is under threat

Libraries will be critical part of the resistance

Latest Long Covid gift that keeps on giving: I have shingles. On my head. 😫
I was hoping to make it to 50 and get the vaccine, thus avoiding it altogether but my now immune-compromised, stressed-out 44 year old body was like “would you like some fresh Hell?”
