Retired valetudinarian - unexpectedly proved to be correct for the latter characteristic.
I've just spotted my typo - Ivor not Ovo! And that sentence had typos before I corrected them! Anyway, *Ivor* the engine was one of my favourite TV programmes when I was very young.

Does he have a name? I think he looks a bit like Idris, the dragon in Ovor the engine.

And very close to both Huntingdon police station & Cambridgeshire Constabulary HQ & Hinchingbrooke Hospital. In a matter of minutes that's very, very quick thinking.

I can't be certain but this looks like the S&C, probably between Horton & Ribblehead. The loco is a Jubilee, built by the LMS but this looks like it was taken post-nationalisation as the carriages have two colours.

Mine, after years of working with names in the context of library systems, is programmers, etc., who assume that everyone has two names (at least). There are some people with only one name.

Rory Stewart says he was told that the mutual antipathy between Kirkby Stephen & Appleby dated to the 1640s when the latter was Royalist & KS was Parliamentarian. See also Mark Steel being told in Skipton that Keighley was a "sink of evil".

And I'll bet they would have been puzzled by the pronounciation as well.

All metal tracks & a different front drive sprocket I think. Otherwise it's a standard M4A1.

...they put all their eggs in one basket & the basket got trashed. Which is what I think happened (though I haven't read a huge amount about it).

Back to Meta then it would seem. Sorry.

Quite. There must be at least 2 possible offences there. I'm not a lawyer but the Computer Misuse Act 1990 & the Theft Act 1968 would seem to be relevant - an interesting contrast to their "I'm not a bad person" - sorry, but yes you are. The problem might be where they live.

This one was being used for tours of Ushuaia in 2005, complete with London Transport posters inside. Don't know if it's still bring used, but I think it is.

Thanks for this thread - it's nice to see some pictures of the church & the area after reading about it in 'Borderlines'.

True, though the Finns had fewer resources to work with.

The Finns had a go as well.

Swavesey's worth a visit as well. It's got some rather nice bench end finials (not sure if that's the right word).

It wouldn't be so bad if Cambridge North was better - but the only time I went there it was dreadful as well. I can only put it down to, in essence, profiteering.

According to an article in this issue of 'The angry corrie':

We're well, but busy. Don't know where we found the time when we were working. Just having the kitchen redone. How are you?

I'm curious to know what "slightly elevated in court" means. Is it a euphemism for having had a drink or two?
