Like this isn't really news about how he operates. If you string together one sentence and a compliment you'll get his full backing (until his next conversation).

I know when I go downtown, it's exclusively to take advantage of the parking lot rates. The businesses there are just a bonus.

I can understand, maybe, some short-term chafing around this, but longer term getting lots redeveloped into mix use buildings would be better for downtown businesses

Hard to find since it'd be ETFs that avoid tech stocks. Maybe a dividend focused one?

Fascists always eat each other.

Funny how he says that his endorsement to a new person will be unyielding in a post where he's yielding his support. Truly inspiring leadership

I know Zappone campaigned a bit on exploring an LVT, which would be cool. Now that we have a 6/1 CC, it'd be nice to see a pilot pushed forward.

Though I think in order to get a clean LVT you need buy in from the state to provide needed exemptions from other taxes that could affect its impact

People say he's always been this way and he's just not hiding it as well anymore (compared to say 15 years ago).

And I agree that's quite a lot of it. But a not insignificant amount of is that it's 15 more years of hoarding and isolation which have enflamed his worst instincts or birthed new ones

Not to be overly dramatic, but extreme wealth is corroding to the soul.

Hoarding wealth is insulating and isolating. It's like when animals are deprived of stimulation. They act weird and fundamentally change.

I think part of it is also a generational thing. I've gotten some professional emails that have weird spacing, redundant punctuation, etc. almost always from people older than 55.

Definitely a weird wealth thing, too. Like trying to push conventions to see if anyone pushes back

That’s why we partnered with local orgs Waters Meet and Spokane Community Against Racism to create spokane.food, an interactive map of places to get support for food insecurity, or give support, if you’re in a place to help.
