Pritzker 2028 for now
Comparison of the biggest Democratic statewide victories in recent memory (2018 Senate and 2025 Gubernatorial)

Note: Spanberger currently trails in Fluvanna County. However, with the remaining number of provisional votes to count, it seems likely that she will win it. Otherwise, it would be purple.

You know that photo of the Wojaks on the southern states and Georgia has the happy Pepe from the 2020 presidential election results

Despite how unhinged I sound right now I hope that you all can see the vision here

This is truly a beautiful map, the best family photo since 2008.

And here is my attempt at a half-decent alternate color scheme in the interest of accessibility.

An additional note: The closest locality in vote margin based on current vote totals and my attempts at estimation where necessary is Winchester. The most lopsided is Buchanan County.

Hypothetical Election: Spanberger 2025 vs Trump 2020

NOTE: 2025 gubernatorial election had a bit over 57% turnout vs. over 75% turnout for the 2020 presidential election. Trump barely wins here against the CURRENT* 2025 total (counting is ongoing), 1,962,430 votes to 1,927,591 votes for Spanberger.

Incredible. Republican State Delegate goes on the big GOP radio show and predicts a Republican majority in the HoD... result is a supermajority just barely short of a 2/3rds majority for the Democrats lol

Yeah, so younger Black voters are very strongly for Zohran here, and he has a plurality, near-majority with all Black voters. So there's a massive gap by age, though yes, that's still less younger Black support than he has from the younger voters of other groups.

new book thread, just going to be when I read a history book

Well, this is a fascinating precinct.

I think this is Cuomo's best precinct at a cursory glance that isn't just one person or a few (there are some of those that went for Cuomo with 100%)

The gap in the party is age and not race. Most older white people end up going to the GOP. So that leaves older POC more conservative than the rest of the generally anti-racism party.

How has BILL CLINTON somehow made one of the only centrist endorsements for Mamdani

What else is going on in November besides the election? This is an endorsement.

So these were in the article and uh... this seems a little less good.

So, the population of 2024 voters is significantly happier with Trump than everyone overall. Only the seven swing states flipped. Worth noting that VT and NH 2024 voters seem to dislike Trump more than the total population, also.

Trump approval map.

There are some surprises here to me.

So all seven swing states flipped here, plus TX, FL, OH, IA, KS, IN, UT, MO?

But SC... fourth most approving state?

I think I need to keep this lovely image on hand for when we get the perennial "a Republican, but not MAGA."
May 21, 2025 at 10:55 PM
Do tell how I could've voted in a way that would've pleased you more. And excuse me for not having my phone out at a polling place in 2020, or I'd have two images to show you.

Alright, it's time to reveal all my bad opinions to everyone in the most controversial way possible

Star Wars tier list. I haven't seen anything missing (I haven't finished Skeleton Crew)

My sincere opinions based on enjoyment and rewatchability. BoBF is the hardest to rank with varying quality.

Virginia Democratic primary vote. Keep in mind that this picture is legal here in Virginia!

I voted Rouse/Jones and then Bloom for my Delegate.

Alright, France, between this and the antifascist coalition in your last election, perhaps I've been too harsh on you

Over half of the anti-conversion therapy signatures across the whole EU are from France.

There are people who will seriously try to tell you that the Galactic Empire is "the liberals," etc.

I could give a thousand other examples, but come on! And stormtroopers, of course, since 1977.

I assumed at first that the racists in this administration had refused aid for the majority-Black counties, but no, their sociopathy extends beyond race in this case.

Every single one of these counties gave at least 75% of their votes to Trump.

If these folks can't get aid, no one will get any.
