I also want to point out that this is part of the problem with “it’s all reagans fault” logic
It negates the fact that neoliberal policy / imperialism is the tendency of the capitalist system. It’s like great man theory. One person couldn’t cause this or stop it. These things are baked in.

I view all politicians as servants, not overlords, so by that criteria almost all of them, and 100% of the presidents I have seen in my lifetime are critical failures.

yep, you are free to opt out, you just have to say you are opting out and just have them manually check your id, it's nice and simple, and everyone should do it !!
btw when we flew for the holidays they had the TSA agents taking photos for facial recognition software. i HIGHLY recommend opting out of this (it's very easy, just tell the agent you want to opt out)
