Building up a small collection of Japanese DVDs that I cannot source English subtitles for. What on earth am I playing at?

Just spent £30 on an old Japanese DVD with no subtitles.
My options are:

- Learn Japanese
- Pay someone to translate for me
- Watch without subs and pick up 67% of what's going on
- Use AI to generate subtitles

Probably not going to do that last one tbf
