For those of you just as excited as I am to design stuff for Daggerheart, I've got a resource for you! We broke down the math for each tier and each adversary type within each tier to get an idea of the range of damage, actions, thresholds etc! Enjoy!

Now here's the video on the elements of #daggerheart at I did not like. We call these "duality videos".

Man, D&D sure has changed since I last played it (2E).

This is so real but it goes beyond D&D. You can't mention disliking an element of a TTRPG without someone saying "But you can homebrew!".

My homebrew will not be accepted at every table I join and the core rules set a standard of what to except when starting a game. That's why rules are important.
D&D fans out here acting like being able to ignore the rules in the $50 book you bought is some kind of selling point. I can ignore the rules of a $5 game and save myself $45.

If you have to ignore the rules they're bad rules. I don't know why this is so hard to understand for people.

When I think of the phrase "passion project", THORN really is that.

It's a game 10 years in the making, which seems silly since there are no dice, health, or classes in it. How could it take that long?

I learned what I want in a game in that time. And now I want to build it, grow it, support it.

The representation of orcs is shifting from brutish monster to human-like allies. I am looking for a middle ground. What if people were transformed into orcs rather than orcs being their own species?

Aberrations being described as "unknowable" is so meaningless. If the creature has a statblock or an illustration it is not unknowable. You have defined its limits/abilities and its form. Therefore, it can be understood.

Make your brain a little bit juicier with a sneak peek at the aberrations and oozes from the 2024 Monster Manual.

I am catching up on The Wizard, The Witch and The Wild One. This is easily my favorite actual play. (ep9)

The setting is amazing. They have such a distinct flavor that I forget this is dnd 5e.

In Legend in the Mist, a mage can be more than a guy that "knows a spell list". If you choose, you can represent magic as an art with mages are customizing and improvising new spells on the spot!

You can easily create a new magic system for a given campaign or adventure.

It's the Lego of TTRPGs!

My #dnd5e games are converting to Legend In The Mist and this game easily represents any character concept. It's a tag based system so there's less worry about archetypes or what builds are "good".

You make the character you want to make

I was explaining to a friend that in the Vagabond TTRPG, druids get infinite Wild Shape uses from level one. They responded "The Dungeons and Dragons movie was run in Vagabond".🤣

A thing I think about a lot in ttrpgs:

Our games rely on sensory fidelity borrowed from other mediums and from our experiences.

If it seems like "borrowed" makes the experience lesser... nothing could be further from the truth.

It's what makes our hobby possible.

We need to remember that playing TTRPGs should be fun! The goal is not being "good" at GMing or playing. You allowed to make "mistakes".

You are not crafting that next hit TV show. You are playing a game with your friends. It should not cause you stress

D&D 5e is promoted as the right for people new into TTRPGs because it's easy to learn. However, it can't be true with its fat rules glossary and dense classes. There are TTRPGs where the entire game is one dice mechanic.

My friend was watching Christmas movies yesterday so I joined them. They said they were starting with "Jack Frost". A few minutes in I realized this isn't the Jack Frost I was expecting. 🤣

An hour in, I am convinced this movie is canon to #fnaf
