Well here's what I've been working on, anyway.

I've heard songwriting compared to mining.

Typically, the resources mined are exhaustible, and part of their value is tied to their scarcity. Extraction can come at great cost to the people tasked with performing it and to the environment in which it occurs.

If we dont show young men the value of empathy we are doomed.

I think we can all do with a little strength & bravery. That’s what lions symbolise. I drew this lad like a heraldic device with a trio of crowns.

Seems like the more attention you seek, the more you need.
While the more attention you pay, the more you have.

If I crave a doom-scroll, my latest fix has been the hope posting genre.

Nothing worries me more acutely than watching people try to convince themselves and others that things are gonna be ok.

(This one was a joke, but only by a little)

Every so often, I convince myself I'd like to try writing a joke. And then it starts out like this:

"People are seeing something in the sky--

What if it's a fear we can't contextualize within the way we'd like to see ourselves?"

Like, right now, I'm still 50/50 on whether this post is a joke.

Last night, I dreamed I was making modifications to the engine of the concept of Brussels Sprouts.

Creativity is like a houseplant, not an endless well. You need to seek out sunlight, water, and nutrients in art, shows, music, experiences, and more to tend to it. And just like plants it has its dormant and active periods and you may not seem improvement for some time.

Sagan was a prophet.

You ever wonder if the maelstrom of information coming at us-- at unprecedented scale and with unprecedented speed-- is affecting the quality, gradient, and frequency of our mundane hallucinations: our dejas vous, our visual and auditory pareidolias, our phantom phone vibrations?

Love is finding somebody you can't outsmart, but who will hold your popsicle for you if you're holding a popsicle and you have to pee.
