Hugo is a black and silver miniature schnauzer. He’s out in the New Forest in the south of England for his morning walk. Hugo is stood amongst some heather, his face looking up, fairly close to the camera. To the side of him (on the right as you look at the photo) you can see a cob web, highlighted by the sun and the dew.

Hugo the black and silver miniature schnauzer is racing back (possibly after being called, possibly after ignoring being called and returning to his humans on his own terms…) through a carpet of coppery leaves and ferns. His white eyebrows are raised, clearly with the G force of his speediness, and his is tongue out. At this time of year, as the ferns die back, multiple mazes of paths/ferns emerge from the summer, where paths start to show themselves again. Hugo absolutely loves running through these but his humans are not so keen as he invariably goes out of their sight...

Hugo the black and silver miniature schnauzer is jumping through some ferns. His face is partially covered by a fern and the only ear you can see is flapping up high, his mouth is slightly open and his paws are raised as he jumps through the ferns. The ferns and copper in colour as they die back.

Hugo’s face is close up to the camera. He’s looking expectantly for a treat. He’s on a great walk in the New Forest, great sniffs, lots of gorgeous autumnal colours and different mushrooms! He really got the scent of something and went running off and his recall was appalling, so he had to go on lead for a bit and then did lots of recall practice.

Hugo, the black and silver miniature schnauzer is strutting about the New Forest with his new ball, which, by the way, is amazing! There’s a bit of gloom setting into the late afternoon as he moves on the grass towards the camera, red ball in his mouth. There is a slight purple/brown glow of heathland, some trees in the background and a grey sky. We got back from our walk and Hugo had his dinner and only played for 5 minutes then decided to snooze, limited play after dinner means super tired!
