It is all so anti-science and anti-medicine and that our politics have devolved to this is disgusting.

Agreed, puberty blockers are used for various cases like precocious puberty
So this Rally is psudeoscientific poppycock
The trial is, of course, clinical nonsense. Puberty blockers are safe for cis kids, after all.

The trial was invented as a pretext to block PBs (for trans kids) in the first place.

But, oh! The hypocrisy of transphobes saying "Can't give children untested [sic] drugs" and "Can't test the drugs"...

I don’t. But they could have held out until the GLP JR decision comes along in the next few weeks.
If it goes for us, that leaves the WI in the situation of having broken the law. And worse still, is that they’ve burnt their bridges; no trans woman will want to be a part of them after this.

Given their long history of supporting trans rights and their fairly recent assertiveness on the issue, my guess is they’re very genuine when they say that.

Whether they could and should have taken on the legal challenge (ie are they being timid/lacking in courage) is another matter.

Because the Supreme Court ruling is being interpreted to prevent trans inclusion in women-only spaces. A small group of people inside and outside the WI are being bankrolled to challenge the WI’s trans inclusive stance.

Of course, as we see from the US, Trans rights are only the first casualty. They will come for abortion, equal rights in general, and more. None of these right wing activists are one-issue people.

They won't be happy until every women's space becomes a club for GCs only, who sit in rooms, silently, examining crotches for bulges and throats for adams apples, desperately paranoid they are inhaling the scentless poison of testosterone. Appalling, hateful people kmt

And for me, I made a solemn promise to myself, in 2022 when you still thought the progressive consensus was unassailable, not to go quietly, not to make it easy on anyone.

I've been steeled against this moment for years.

If these institutions truly believed in inclusion, then they could change their rules to define 'women' for purposes of their membership to be gender inclusive, surely!

But under the Supreme Court's vision, trans women aren't women, and so a women's group admitting trans women would no longer be a women's group. So they can either deny trans women, or open up to all sexes. Not great options

The Equality Act sets out protections and restrictions on that - ideally, to prevent discrimination e.g. they aren't allowed to deny all Muslim women from becoming members. Under the old interpretation, trans women were classed as women for this purpose - so a "women's group" should accept them
