More renter households than units and the places with the most rental construction had the most reduction in rents. The State of the Nation’s housing is bleak but we know the solutions. It’s time to implement them.

FHFA announced “competitive areas” for more RIFs today. The gutting of the public sector isn’t over; they’re just being quieter about it.
Here’s a picture of the beautiful scenery from CatRock in Cunningham Falls State Park in MD because the email notifying FHFA staff of more RIFs was designated “controlled”. And if you want to see a copy of the email, certainly DON’T hit up my DMs or find me on Signal. It would be an absolute waste of time…

A really wonderful documentary. It addresses the desegregation protests of Glen Echo Park in the early 60’s. I think it’s important to understand the specifics of individual protests, thousands across the during the Civil Rights movement, and this doc does a great job of that.

A colleague at FHFA is getting pushback from agency leadership for posting about what is happening (in their off hours) and publicly supporting workers illegally fired/put on admin leave/whatever by agency leadership with no advance notification. Shocking from this bunch of free speech warriors.
Tweet from an FHFA employee saying, “Today I took a box full of what remained in my office home with me on the Metro. I still have my job (for now), but in the past two days dozens of employees at my agency, FHFA, have been informed that they have five minutes to pack up before being escorted out of the building.”

Email NTEU Members, Today, an email from HR@opm.gov was sent to all employees with the subject "What did you do last week?" The email asks that employees respond by Monday, 11:59 PM EST. NTEU is advising all employees NOT to immediately respond to this email and to await further guidance. Once again, agencies were caught off guard by these emails, just like the chaotic "Fork in the Road" email. This email is yet another attempt by the administration to scare hardworking civil servants who deliver for the American people every day. It is shameful. We will update you soon.
