More renter households than units and the places with the most rental construction had the most reduction in rents. The State of the Nation’s housing is bleak but we know the solutions. It’s time to implement them.

FHFA announced “competitive areas” for more RIFs today. The gutting of the public sector isn’t over; they’re just being quieter about it.

A really wonderful documentary. It addresses the desegregation protests of Glen Echo Park in the early 60’s. I think it’s important to understand the specifics of individual protests, thousands across the during the Civil Rights movement, and this doc does a great job of that.

Between a visit from the generator repair guy and work, got to drop in on the MoCo Affordable Housing Conference! A good time was had by all and, the next few years will be rough, but I’m optimistic about our ability to weather the storm.

Bathouse 2: Electric Bugaloo! The first one didn’t take - except for that squirrels - but hope springs eternal.

This machine bankrupts fascists.

Everyone matters. Happy trans DOV to folks who I know are feeling the stress of the administration’s fascist attacks on some of our most vulnerable neighbors.

A colleague at FHFA is getting pushback from agency leadership for posting about what is happening (in their off hours) and publicly supporting workers illegally fired/put on admin leave/whatever by agency leadership with no advance notification. Shocking from this bunch of free speech warriors.

An unelected, racist billionaire is determining what services our government provides and who gets to be a public servant. It’s not only wrong; it’s immoral, disgusting, and a stupid way to run a government, unless you happen to be a billionaire. Hit’em where it hurts. #teslatakedown #Swasticars

National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU) says don’t respond to the stupid Elon email and I agree. Either don’t respond or send them the entire text of the script to the movie Shrek (www.scifiscripts.com/cartoon/shre...).

There’s a good protest currently going on at 1300 Rockville Pike in front of the Tesla Dealership. To hell with Elon and his attacks on federal workers. Show your support for federal workers and the rule of law.

Trust @nteunion.bsky.social, not the administration. It’s not a buyout. It’s “deferred resignation” and a scare tactic.

Choose 20 books that have stayed with you or influenced you. One book per day for 20 days, in no particular order. No explanations, no reviews, just covers.

Nope, nothing to see here. Getting both of these on the same day from different companies is certainly not indicative of a housing supply crisis.
