I have since found areas immediately after Hunter’s March to be very reasonable. I’m now interested to see whether Team Cherry sticks to this choice or rebalances it at all; to me it feels like an aberration because of how early it is.

I’m a gamer who was happy to be challenged in the original game up to but not including the later Pantheons. I vehemently disagreed with locking lore behind an infamously challenging mega boss rush, and given the developer comments on that choice I had wondered whether Silksong would follow.

Once you enter the area you deal with very tanky enemies, 2 mask damage all over the place, and challenging platforming. This created a frustrating runback for a difficult arena battle. But what really set me off was the lack of benches, especially either before or at least after the arena.

I kept reading this as involving a literal four-legged chair until I woke up a bit more, but I want that story to exist now.
