Also you can't pet your Pokemon. It's right there and you can't interact with it outside of bossing it around. It's a tool and a weapon, but not a companion. Isn't that the kind of sick subtle punishment you'd get if you were in Pokemon hell?

It was also gating people from seeing the actual cool features... most of the time people unlock the Arrow attack and that's it :/

I just started looking. It seems that there's mastodon.gamedev.place that could be a good place to start. It seems like we can move servers? I just don't know how much of a problem it'd be to do so.

I'm super curious about "game grammar notation" too, but I think I'll go for the 20-years-after video first, and then start to look into the material referenced about notation.
