'This got me thinking about something I never really considered since I've always been pretty healthy fortunately, but that every time you see a health insurance company having huge revenues and profits, that means people had to suffer as a result. whether it's denied coverage, limited coverage, crippling debt, or straight up died, people have suffered, and not just the patient, but the family who lost a loved one or parent, or is now in debt whatever, in order for those profits to be realized. kinda messed up when you think about it.

this guy wore a mask and didn't keep his cell phone on him when he fled and as a result a police department that is itself one of the largest armed forces and intelligence agencies on planet earth is completely flummoxed

One of the NYPD brass said “this isn’t blue bloods” when explaining they can’t just immediately find the guy and I like that years of copaganda have set standards cops can’t meet and might be contributing to people’s correct perception that cops don’t effectively stop crime or find killers.
