Christine Drazan filed for the Republican primary election today.

Another Democrat also joined the race, and one Republican withdrew.

Independents 46.7 (-2.8)
Republicans 86.6 (-10.6)

Democrats are now lower than Republicans were at any point of Biden's term. Independents are also below their Biden lows.

Today, the Oregon Department of Education released the annual report on school attendance.

This shows the change in % of chronically absent students (i.e., "non-regular attenders") from 2018-2019 to 2024-2025 in Oregon's thirty largest school districts.

Today, the Oregon Department of Education released the annual report on school attendance. In the 2024-2025 school year, 33.5% of K-12 students were "non-regular attenders," i.e., chronically absent.

This is 13 points more than pre-Covid.

There are now 11 Republicans and 3 Democrats.

The Portland parks levy is currently passing with 53% yes.

In 2020, it passed with 64% yes.

The Major Cities Chiefs Association today released its violent crime comparisons for the first three quarters of 2025 vs. 2024.

Violent crime declined in most cities. It declined 5% in Portland.

Today, the Portland Police Bureau released the 2025 Q3 traffic stop report.

PPB recorded 5,705 traffic stops. 48% of stops were of drivers of color.

Republicans' greatest advantages are crime and immigration. Democrats' greatest advantages are health care and the environment/climate.

They are about even on the economy.
