I’m watching The Electric State right now actually. So far pretty enjoyable. I’ve never read the book though. Definitely makes me want to read it!
i want to say "the director adapting a book should like and understand that book" but Starship Troopers is a perfect film largely because Verhoeven refused to read it so i actually take nothing away from this at all
the trailers for the electric state have all looked horrible but i'm morbidly curious to see how bad it is after seeing this on the movie's wikipedia page about how they russo's somehow didn't understand the story they bought the fucking rights to
