Ding! Ding!! Trump could release the files now without a vote
Trump is now claiming he has “nothing to hide” and that Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files.

The only reason Congress is voting on the Epstein files is because Trump and the DOJ have been blocking their release.

Coons on Epstein files: "My hunch is that AG Bondi, having just been ordered on social media by the president to open an investigation into a series of high-profile Dems, will promptly say, 'No, there's an ongoing investigation, we can't disclose any of this,' and the president will back that up."

Remember: The concentration of wealth in the hands of a few isn't just bad for our economy. It's corrosive to our democracy.

When the wealthy and well-connected control our political system, regular people don't have a voice.

The result? The demagoguery and corruption we're seeing now.

Trump says, “no one cares about veterans more than me.”

But his playbook says something else:

📌 Strip disability pay from veterans
📌 Cut 30,000+ VA jobs that help disabled vets

The Project 2025 agenda:
Gut the government, gut veterans, and funnel the money to Trump’s billionaire friends.

Every day that republicans don’t say “enough” they become more likely to say “give me more”. Not all republicans are greedy, immoral and perverted, but those that were on the margins are hard to find these days.
Who knows. For years I thought, "*Now* will they finally say 'enough'?"

Is this finally the big—as some have so aptly put it—jailbreak?

Let us hope and pray that it is. But let's not hold our breath.

For 10 months it was open but Republicans wouldn't negotiate because they don't want poor people to have health insurance they can afford
Suckers believe Republicans will negotiate after the government is reopened, even though they didn’t negotiate before it closed. Senate Democrats gave up the only leverage they had.

They got nothing. Snap wasn't why we had the shutdown. Dems got rolled.
Democrats could have done better. They probably should have done better. But they exit this event in a stronger position than they entered. And also: They could have done much worse.

Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 95th day out of the last 107.

12 days of work in 107 days.

With full pay and benefits.

The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

It’s a grotesque parody of pro-worker politics, watching this administration slowly murder the very miners they pose with for photo ops, all for the profit of an industry that treats human lives as a negligible expense.

Truth: the two party system is terrible and needs to go.

Also Truth: until reforms are implemented to make elections more competitive, either a Dem or Republican will win almost every election, and pouting on election day only helps the party more opposed to your views.

Trump’s voters have become like the members of the administration, delighting in the crassness and obscenity that pours out of the president and his circle whenever they are challenged. But policies suffer and the public is poorly served.

The 400 richest Americans are now worth a record $6.6 trillion.

The entire bottom 50% of America is worth just $4.2 trillion.

Read that back.

When 400 people control more wealth than half a country’s population, we have a very serious problem.

This country is allowed to have tariffs. You just have to convince Congress that they're a good idea.

The President can hold tariff powers instead of Congress, if you can convince voters to amend the Constitution.

If you can't convince anyone of anything, rethink your ideas.
Trump: "If this country is not allowed to have tariffs, if this country is not allowed to have the president negotiate on behalf of it w/tariffs, we are put in a position where we're gonna be a 3rd world country. We can't let that happen. I think it's the most important case that we are gonna have"
