This is probably the first time of doing something hybrid, thanks to a Printer Scanner, I did a traditional ink layout for the comic, and did the coloring digitally with Sketchbook. This is actually the second version of the illustration. Because with the first illustration, I felt I was getting repetitive with using the same vintage/aged paper background. So with this, I decided to use a different one to make a more definitive feel that it's like a old comic/magazine. I really love how this turned out. Hello, Followers/Watchers. It's been a long while last time I posted on here, or did any Art generally. Because I've been so busy with my job, that I don't have much time, or the creativity to do more artwork. Even dealing with my personal/family life currently is stressful, and with all of the stress and energy being used up for work. I just don't have the motivation for making new content. But, here's my little update. To tell you all that I haven't died and faded to obscurity. I'm still around. Some additional notes, to be honest, I just feel that my art hasn't really gone anywhere, and not much people has liked the stuff. So, that also made me step away from doing art. As I do wish to do commissions later on, but I just feel I'm not really big enough to do it, with a smaller audience. But, I hopefully will soon. Also, I do want to, and plan on doing other projects than art, which I'll hopefully keep posted on here. Anyway, the people who've followed this page, thank you so, so much! It means a lot that you liked and enjoyed my work I've made so far! I do hope that more work is to come! You all have a good day. -Jon '25

Natu: Nadzieja | Xatu: Esperanza

Their names mean hope but a lot of care was put into both the names and designs, see Alt Text or check the post on DA.

The Wifedex: 177-178 Natu and Xatu The Natu, Nadzieja only has a vague feeling about the future, but invests and trusts in it believing in the best. So, she sows seed both physically and literally, as she's definitely one to tend to the garden. Her name is Polish in origin, meaning "hope" in a context that seems to be aligned with ideals and aspirations. The Xatu, Esperanza, pretty much isn't surprised by anything, as she's got much better pattern recognition and cognition to predict things to come, which makes it difficult for her to really find excitement or joy when she gets too far into rumination. Esperanza's name is Spanish in origin, also having meanings of hope, however the intentionality and meaning in this case are more in line with "longsuffering and patience" as the word is more often referring to perseverance and faith in difficult times. As such, they both represent the kākāpō, which seems to be part of Natu and Xatu's inspiration-- the bird was thought to be able to predict the future in Māori folklore, and there was a saying to reflect one who is never satisfied: "You have a kākāpō cape and you still complain of the cold".
